It looks like 2013 is going to be the FUNNEST year yet since starting my CHD Awareness journey back in 2009! I’m so glad I took a little break during Chloe’s baby sister Kenna’s first year. I’ve really enjoyed the past 18months with her. Her smile lights up my world!
Since Chloe was born, I felt like I had ALWAYS been meant to fight for all CHD babies and raise awareness for this #1 birth defect! I’ve been passionate since Day 1, and Chloe continues to inspire me every day! She is 4 now and doing amazing!
I’ve tried many ways to raise awareness, from local media to care packages at our local Children’s Hospital to spending the last 4 years trying to get Pulse Oximetry Screening mandatory statewide (Chloe’s Law), and even a few small fundraisers! But nothing has been or will be as FUN as racing my way to the finish line in my CHD Babies gear!
And with my CHD Babies info postcards (below) being added to some of the race bags at a few of the races, I could potentially reach over 500+ people this year!
I have some great things going on during CHD Awareness Week (Feb 7-14)! At least one fundraiser and a possible giveaway! Follow me on Facebook for all the details!
P.S. Heading to the Capital soon as Chloe’s Law is the main topic on the agenda for the March of Dimes Lobby Day. Fingers crossed for Chloe’s Law being a reality this year!!!
One last photo before I sign off……couldn’t resist! 🙂
