The 7th annual Run for LITTLE Hearts is Kansas City’s exclusive CHD Awareness Event! So excited to put on a SUPERHERO themed event this year!
This family friendly event is hosted by a local nonprofit CHD Babies, founded by Lee’s Summit mom Kelly Manz, whose daughter Chloe was born with critical Congenital Heart Defects in 2008. Chloe had life-saving open heart surgery at 4 months old, with several more surgeries to follow. This event raises awareness and funds for CHD!
Registration includes a super soft race shirt, a race bib with food truck tickets, custom finishers medal, and lots of kids entertainment!
FAQs
Is this a free event?
NO! Everyone must be registered to attend!
Do kids need to be registered?
YES! This event is NOT open to the public. Kids age 2 and older need to be registered for the kids dash to have access to the kids entertainment and food. The fee is $20 and that covers the cost of the bib, race shirt, kids entertainment, plus a real finishers medal at the race finish line. Children under 2 do not need to be registered.
Do adults need to be registered?
YES! This event is NOT open to the public. You MUST be registered! All adults that are registered will receive a tshirt, bib and finishers medal. The bib will also have the food tickets to enjoy the free food provided! Food and finishers medal will not be given to anyone without a bib ticket.
Do I have to wear my bib at the race?
YES! All registrants including Kids Dash must wear their bib. This is how we ensure that you have registered and will receive a medal at the finish line, plus the food and entertainment provided!
What are my parking options at the event?
Plenty of parking is available! Starting and finish line will be at Lot M. Please note Lot B and Lot H are open to park BEFORE 8:45am. If you arrive late or plan to leave early, please park in Lot N. Parking attendants will be directing you where to go. Handicap parking will be available in the far side of Lot M.
What can I bring to the event?
Strollers are welcome! Pets are not allowed per Arrowhead rules. Tailgate tents are not allowed per Arrowhead rules. Feel free to bring a blanket and chairs to set up your own family area on the unused side of Lot M.
Can I transfer my registration if I am no longer able to attend?
YES! Contact me to transfer the registration to someone else. Since this is a charity event, refunds will not be processed. Thank you for understanding!

If you have a promo code, please note it must be entered on the same page that you select your tickets on Eventbrite. Select you tickets and click “Enter Promotional Code”. It is at the top of the page.It is easy to register families – you can select more than one registration category at one time! And you can also copy basic information onto the next family member or friend that you are registering. Just make sure to edit the correct info for each person.
Donations are accepted during the registration process! If you have a friend of family member that simply wants to donate, feel free to send them the registration link to donate only! All proceeds are given to my nonprofit CHD Babies and included in the proceeds donated for 2020!
Virtual Runners – only 500 spots available and your registration will end April 1, 2020! No exceptions! Everything will be mailed before race day! REGISTER EARLY!
TEAM PACKET PICKUP WILL BE AVAILABLE AGAIN! MORE INFO WILL BE SENT TO TEAM CAPTAINS CLOSER TO RACE DAY. TEAM AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN TO WINNING TEAM CAPTAINS DURING OPENING REMARKS. STAY TUNED FOR DETAILS!
Packet Pick-Up:
All 10K, 5K, Awareness Walk, and Kids Dash participants need to pick up their race packets before the race. If you registered to Volunteer, you do not need to pick up a race packet.
Please make sure all registrants including Kids Dash wear their bibs! The bib shows that you have registered and ensures that you have access to the FREE food and entertainment!

Virtual Runner:
We have Virtual Runners from all over the country supporting this event! That is pretty cool!
The first 500 Virtual Runners that register can run/walk from anywhere in the world! You can even complete this race on a treadmill. No proof of completion is required. Before race day, we will mail you a race shirt, a custom bib and a finishers medal! All you have to do is participate with us “virtually” on race day! Kids’ Dash:
Kids Dash is 50 yards for children 10 & under! It is the first race of the day and it will begin promptly at 8:30am.
The Kids Dash will be on pavement! Parents are welcome to run with their children or push them in a stroller.
All kids dash participants will receive a small treat after the Kids Dash! They will also receive a finishers medal at the finish line in front of Arrowhead after they complete the Walk or 5K or 10K. Please make sure they wear their bib! We want to make sure all of the registered kids enjoy the entertainment provided! The custom bib will grant the kids access to food and fun after the Kids Dash!
Please register the kids for the Kids Dash – parents can pick up their shirt and bib at packet pickup.
I will separate the kids into age groups before they run, with the youngest going first.
You can purchase extra shirts on race day if not sold out!
Race Location/Course Info:
The course is a flat course is on pavement around Arrowhead and Kauffman Stadiums at Truman Sports Complex.
The 5K course is an out and back that begins and ends at Lot M.
The 10K runners will do the 5K route twice.
The Awareness Walk is an out and back as well, that begins and ends at Lot M.
The Kids Dash is the first race of the day! It’s a short sprint ON PAVEMENT and will happen in between Lot M and Lot H at 8:30am. Kids will be divided into age groups, with the youngest going first.
All roads on the course will be closed to traffic.
Please make sure all registrants, including Kids Dash, wear their bibs! The bib shows that you have registered and ensures that you will receive a finishers medal and have access to the food and entertainment!
Water and Gatorade will be provided near Mile Marker 1, 2, 4 and 5… as well as bottled water at the Finish Line.
EMT will be onsite, and a first aid station will be located near the Volunteer Tent.
Race Timing/Awards:
Chip timing will not be utilized during the event this year.
If you need to time your walk or run, please download one of the many apps available to track the time of your run, or use the race clock at the race to track your time.
There will be no overall or age group awards for this event. We prefer to have as much of the proceeds as possible to be donated. Thank you for understanding!

The event will take place rain or shine. Please dress accordingly! Feel free to pack sunscreen, bring umbrellas, or wear layers if needed!
